STANDING ORDERS
Standing Orders are additional to the Local Government Act 1972 (Parts 1 & 2) which is the law relating to the constitution and creation of a Parish Council. Standing Orders are instructions and rules which Sapperton Parish Council has adopted that will assist with the smooth running of Council business and meetings. Most Parish Councils have a set of Standing Orders which are exclusive to them and tailored to suit the different Parish conditions such as size, budget and other constraints. Standing Orders do not contravene any part of the Local Government Act 1972 but enhance it to enable the Parish Council to run more smoothly.
