On 19 January 2022, the prime minister confirmed that the Plan B measures in place in England would come to an end.
From 27 January 2022 there will be no requirement to wear face coverings in public indoor spaces. However, we are still advised to wear them in enclosed or crowded spaces, particularly when meeting strangers.
The ‘work from home if possible’ advice ends too with immediate effect from 19 January 2022. But businesses are free to allow staff to continue to work from home if they wish to.
